Core Values

At its core, Providence is a family of people who love Jesus and desire to see Him glorified in our lives. We work hard not to make church about buildings, staff or anything but Jesus and what He’s doing in His people.

Providence has five core values that we measure everything against: Truth, Community, Redemption, Missional Living, and Prayer.

God is truth, and His truth is made known to us through His Word and through Jesus Christ. Providence Church seeks to know, love, and live the truth. (John 14:6; 2 Timothy 3:14-17)

Listen to a sermon about truth as a core value.

God exists in perfect community – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – and He created us to live in community. As such, the Christian life is one that is to be lived in love, service, and authenticity with the body of Christ. (Acts 4:32-36; Hebrews 10:24)

Listen to a sermon about community as a core value.

Redemption is the buying back of something that was lost. As people redeemed by Christ, we are now actively pointing others to the redemption offered by Christ for their souls, hearts, and lives to Christ. This includes our worship, our relationships, and our work. (Ephesians 1:7)

Listen to a sermon about redemption as a core value.

Missional Living

We are passionately to give our lives away for the glory of God in everything that we do. (Isaiah 43:6-7; Matthew 28:19)

Listen to a sermon about missional living as a core value.

Prayer is an acknowledgement of our complete dependence on our Father for all that we do. It should permeate all that we do as Christians. 1 Thess 5:16-18; Matthew 6:5-15

Listen to a sermon about prayer as a core value.
