Home Groups

God does not mean for his people to live alone. He designed life to be lived in community or with “one another.” For example, we are commanded to:

  • Love one another (John 13:34)
  • Serve one another (Galatians 5:13)
  • Encourage and build up one another (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
  • Confess sin and pray for one another (James 5:16)

What are Home Groups?

Home groups are small gatherings of believers that are committed to living out the “one another’s” of Scripture. While each group has its own characteristics, every group is committed to prayer, God’s Word, and to cultivating ever-deepening relationships among its members. Groups meet throughout the week in the homes of Providence members.

What Should You Expect in a Home Group?

A home group is a place where you are free and safe to be honest about your sin; where you can share your struggles and doubts. It is a place where God’s grace is celebrated, friendships are formed, and transformation happens. You can expect to be prayed for and to pray for others. Ultimately, it is a place where believers gather to fulfill the two greatest commandments: Love God, love one another.
