At Providence, we seek to partner with parents as they teach and model the gospel to their children.
Role of Parents and Families
Scripture is clear that parents have been given the joy and responsibility of raising their children in a gospel-centered home. Parents are the primary voice and point of influence in a child’s life.
- Deuteronomy 4:9
- Psalm 78:1-7
- Ephesians 6:4
- Deuteronomy 6:4-9
- Proverbs 22:6
- 1 Thessalonians 2:11-12
Role of Providence Kids
We want to come alongside parents as they take the lead in the spiritual formation of their children. We work hard to develop and implement Christ-honoring curriculum and to teach fundamental truths each and every week. It is our hope and prayer to equip parents to lead their homes in living out the gospel.
We believe that there is much to be gained when parents and the church work together. Working alongside parents is important in helping kids growing confident in their knowledge of God. Here are some ways parents can partner with us as we minister to children:
Choose a service time and attend that service every week
During Providence Kids, children are placed in groups with kids of the same age. The lead teacher serves at the same service every week. Attending a consistent service each Sunday will help kids connect to both their leaders and their peers.
Use family resources
We have created resources to help parents talk with their kids about the gospel and how it relates to their lives. These resources include parent take-home sheets, memory verses, and our blog. Use them. Have fun with them.
Enjoy teaching your kids!
