Read

Here are some verses for your family to read about creation giving glory to their Creator:

Psalms 135 Praise the Lord! Praise the name of the Lord, give praise, O servants of the Lord, 2 who stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God! 3 Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; sing to his name, for it is pleasant! 4 For the Lord has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his own possession. 5 For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. 6 Whatever the Lord pleases, he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps.7 He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth, who makes lightning for the rain and brings forth the wind from his storehouses.

Discuss

Ask younger kids specific questions about the story or to retell the story. Ask older kids critical thinking questions. Here are a few suggestions:

What is this Psalm reminding us to do?

What are some words you heard that describe the character of God?

Pray

Lead your family in a time of prayer over what you read.

Consider the ACTS model (Adoration- Adore or praise God, Confession- Confess sin, Thanksgiving- Thank God, and Supplication- Ask God to supply your needs)

Today we will focus on C-Confess: Creator God, You are worthy to be praised! There is none like You! We admit that we do not always give you the praise and glory you deserve. We are selfish and give our time and attention to other, less important things. Please forgive us, Lord. Thank you for your love and grace that you offer us through faith in Jesus! We pray in His name, amen.
